Barlach Studio House in Güstrow

Ernst Barlach: Sculptor – Printmaker – Writer Ernst Barlach (1870–1938), a German sculptor and printmaker, lived in Güstrow from 1910 until his death and created the majority of his works there. The Ernst Barlach Foundation in Güstrow preserves the sculptor, graphic artist, and writer’s most extensive collection of works in its museums and makes it accessible to the public through permanent and special exhibitions. The Ernst Barlach Studio House on the Inselsee, featuring an exhibition forum and a print gallery, displays sculptural works and a biographical exhibition. The print gallery, which opened in June 2003, also offers ideal conditions for presenting manuscripts, drawings, and prints.
