Getting to School Safely

Tickets

According to the Terms and Conditions of Carriage of Verkehrsverbund Warnow GmbH (VVW), a valid ticket is required for every trip.

Where can I buy tickets?

You can purchase all tickets directly on the bus, as well as at the ticket machines on the buses, at the Rostock Central Bus Station (ZOB), at Rostocker Straßenbahn AG (RSAG), and at Deutsche Bahn (DB).

Ausgenommen sind:

  • alle Formen des Deutschland-Tickets, diese sind nur im Abo beim VVW erhältlich
  • alle ABO-Tickets (Fahrrad, Monatskarte, Mobil60, Warnow-Pass-Mobil und das VVW-Job-Ticket

What happens if I forget my ticket?

As a general rule, all issued tickets must be carried with you on every trip.

If you do not have your ticket with you during an inspection, you may present it to us within one week. Doing so will reduce the surcharge from 60 euros to 7 euros.

Please note: If you are unable to present a valid ticket during an inspection, you must pay the increased fare of 60 euros in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Carriage of the Warnow Transport Association (VVW).

The Student Pass

Students in the Rostock district receive a student transit pass that is valid for one school year. The student transit pass entitles the student to use the buses operated by rebus Regionalbus Rostock GmbH and its contractual partners, as well as the other modes of transportation listed on the pass.

This pass is valid only with a photo and only on the specified route between home and school, and only on school days.

The student pass must be carried on every trip throughout the entire school year and presented to the driver without being asked before the trip begins.

Eligibility Card for Reduced-Fare Tickets

For weekly and monthly passes:

  • Children from age 6 through 15
  • Students (age 15 and older), apprentices, and full-time students with a VVW eligibility card
  • Upload photos of the eligibility card

You will need:

  • 1 photo
  • School certificate / training contract or similar (download form)
  • Identification card

Forgotten or Lost Tickets

If you are unable to present your student pass, you have the option of purchasing a single-ride ticket for this trip from the driver or having the driver issue you a temporary student pass.

If you lose your student commuter pass, you can have a temporary student commuter pass issued at your school’s office, which is valid for 14 days. This applies without exception to all schools in the Rostock district.

If you've lost your student transit pass, your parents can submit a request for a replacement. The replacement will be mailed to you once payment has been processed.

Processing the request may take up to 7 business days.
