About Us

Our Mission

Rebus Regionalbus Rostock GmbH has been contracted by the Rostock District to provide local public transportation throughout the entire Rostock District. Based on the “Regional Public Transportation Plan for Central Mecklenburg/Rostock,” this includes all bus service in the Rostock district, including connections to the Hanseatic City of Rostock:

School transportation

The schools in the Rostock district (68 schools as of 2015) must be served by school transportation in such a way that every student can travel safely and securely from their home to their school.

Schools in the Hanseatic City of Rostock are served additionally depending on the type of school and the surroundings of the student’s place of residence—for example, whether or not there are assigned schools.

School transportation in the Rostock district is generally integrated into regular public transit service. Based on current student enrollment figures, students’ places of residence, and the class schedules of individual schools, we develop a customized overall schedule at the beginning of each school year. This schedule may be adjusted slightly during the school year—for example, to account for changes in class schedules or student enrollment.

The School Transportation Ordinance, enacted in accordance with the provisions of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania School Act (SchulG M-V), and the Ordinance on the Determination of School Catchment Areas in the Rostock district must be taken into account as fundamental guidelines.

Supervisory Board

rebus Regionalbus Rostock GmbH has a supervisory board composed of members of the Rostock County Council and the county administrator.

Traffic Area

Our service area covers the entire Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (MV) in northeastern Germany. Here, we operate from the Baltic Sea in the north to Lake Krakow in the south, and from Gnoien in the east to Rerik in the west of the district.

With several depots spread throughout the entire Rostock district, we are able to serve this large service area quickly and efficiently.

rebus’s depots are located in Güstrow, Rostock, Bad Doberan, Teterow, and Gnoien. Add locations

We connect the surrounding area of the Hanseatic City of Rostock to the city’s public transit network—operated by Rostocker Straßenbahn AG (RSAG)—via several regional routes. Here, we travel directly to the Central Bus Terminal (ZOB) at Rostock Central Station and to the transfer stops Dierkower Kreuz, Reutershagen Markt, and Mensa, as well as the S-Bahn stations Lütten Klein and Warnemünde Werft.

Together with the partners in the Warnow Transport Association (VVW), we form a fare network for the Rostock district and the Hanseatic City of Rostock. With a single ticket and a coordinated schedule among the individual partners, you can travel on all local transit services throughout the entire network area.

Regional Fare

One ticket. One fare. One region.

The Warnow Transportation Authority (VVW), together with its member companies, ensures your mobility in the Hanseatic City of Rostock and the Rostock district. The authority optimizes public transportation services for you. The VVW coordinates the entire route network in the Rostock region and ensures uniform travel conditions with a coordinated schedule.

And you benefit from the network. Whether by train, bus, ferry, or streetcar—no matter which of our companies’ modes of transportation you use, you can easily continue your journey with a single ticket. This saves you the trouble of buying another ticket when transferring, among other things.

TIP: Or take advantage of the offers from es Deutschland-Tickets.

Bus Fleet

The comfort, speed, and convenience of our passenger transportation services are based on modern, high-performance vehicles. Here you’ll find a selection of our vehicles, complete with photos and a brief description of their technical features:

For most passengers, the appearance, condition, and quality of a bus provide the first impression upon which they judge the entire service. The competence and customer-friendliness of the staff, or the quality of the schedules and route planning, often take a back seat. We must also meet our passengers’ increased safety needs on a daily basis.

For these reasons, and taking economic factors into account, we have invested enormous resources in renewing our fleet in recent years.
